Training practice

Rother House Medical Centre is a proud training practice provider for new upcoming GPs.

We host several medical students placements across the year at varying stages of their careers.

What this means for you the patient?

You might be asked if you are happy to see a GP with medical students present observing the interactions and taking learning from the consultation. Additionally, you may be asked if you are happy to see a medical student with a GP present in the room supporting them to ensure they ask the right questions and give you the right care.

For more experienced medical students they might have their own clinic where they see you without a GP being present but on hand to check things through to ensure the appropriate care is provided.

We appreciate you might not feel comfortable with having a medical student present or leading the session which is why we will always ask you in advance when booking you in for the appointment and calling you into the room.

We hope you can help us support the next generation of GPs coming though our practice.

GP net earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs who worked for six months or more in Rother House Medical Centre in the last financial year was £71,596 before Tax and National Insurance. This is for 3 full-time GP’s and 13 part-time GP’s.

If you are interested in working with the practice, keep an eye on our vacancies page to stay informed.
